December – White – Artists Inspired

I’m dreaming of a

WHITE

Christmas, just like the ones I used to know where the treetops glisten and children listen to hear the sleigh bells in the snow!

When I think of white in December, the first thing that comes to mind is snow. Unfortunately it has only snowed here once this year and not very much at all. So, I had to think outside the box to get images for this month’s blog. I went to a local plant nursery and shot all my images there.  It may look like it is snowing but beware — they actually had an outdoor station for spraying trees white!!

For those of you who don’t know, one of my favorite ways to shoot is to freelens.  Freelensing is when you take the lens off the camera while shooting but still held very closely. This creates a tilt-shift effect in your photos lending to beautiful bokeh, blurs and light leaks you can’t get with traditional photography. Most of the time I will add just a few freelensed images into my blog posts. This month I am so happy to share my love of this type of shooting with every single image.
