I procrastinated shooting images for this Month’s theme big time. I see lines everywhere and it was really hard for me to narrow down what exactly I wanted to capture. I wanted to capture images that had meaning, depth and sentimentally important. How was I going to do that with lines? That was the question until we had my daughter’s eighth Birthday party with our family. One of my daughter’s most prized gifts this year came from her Grandma (my husband’s Mom) and Papa. An authentic ukulele made with gorgeous wood with a soft satin finish. She is so excited to play and learn from her Daddy! You can see in the first couple images how timid and shy she was being about playing it. As she played more and more we were given concerts and ended with a full on jam session that got a little crazy! I played multiple instruments when I was young but don’t remember much. My husband decided in his thirties that he wanted to learn to play the Banjo and ukulele and that he did. I love that my husband is sharing his love of music and talent with our kids! When I walked into the room with my daughter playing and my husband kneeling beside her with his ukulele and his hand up to her new prized possession, I saw the lines, sentiment, meaning, depth, and beauty I was looking for! If you count, yes, I did add more than 6 images. Since this is all came about from a birthday present, I added two to grow on!

SharleenWhat an awesome birthday present and I love how you have captured it in the lines theme. The second last image is my favorite and I love the black and white conversion. What a wonderful memory keeper this is.
