This month’s theme at Share Six is Wide. The first thing that came to my mind is, wide open. I absolutely love opening up my aperture as wide as it will go. I love the bokeh and blur that you can get in the background. So of course I decided to drop my aperture as wide open as it would go for this month’s images.
We went to a really neat dinosaur exhibit over the holiday break and they had a volcano sandbox! The higher the pile of sand you created, the warmer the color it would get. It looked a lot like a topographic map. The best part was that when holding your hand above your ‘volcano’, fingers apart, lava would start spilling out of your volcano. All the colors on the sand including the lava was created by a light above the sandbox. To say my kids loved this part of the exhibit is an understatement! Here’s a little sampling of our volcano creating!
Thank you for joining us for another month at Share Six. I am part of a group of photographers who blog 6 images on the 6th of each month with unique monthly themes. Please continue around the circle by clicking HERE to see how the extremely talented Ceri Herd interpreted this month’s theme.
Join us for this month’s theme by posting your Wide images on our Facebook page at Share Six and to our Instagram gallery, by tagging #sharesix and #sharesix_wide. A new theme will come out on January 6th.
